Ingeborg Gaasterland studied private law at the University of Utrecht. She worked for more than 18 years at Wijn & Stael Advocaten as a member of the Insolvency Law practice group. Since 2001, she has independently acted as a trustee and has also regularly worked as a team member in large insolvencies. She has performed many regularity audits and litigated on officers’ and directors’ liability. Ingeborg has also advised clients on insolvency issues and assisted them in restarts.
Ingeborg also acts as the contact at FIZ advocaten for cases in the field of insolvency law and assists the litigation practice. Ingeborg considers it a challenge to draw up procedural documents that are so clear and well-structured that the facts and legal questions are immediately clear to the court. She thoroughly analyses complex issues and gets to the very heart of the matter.
Because the quality of her work is paramount to Ingeborg, she sets great store by sharing and imparting her knowledge and skills. During her time at Wijn & Stael, she therefore trained many young lawyers and insolvency assistants. Ingeborg also trains the younger lawyers at FIZ advocaten. Her experience has taught her that young lawyers consider their personal development as important as developing their legal skills. They have questions, for instance, about how to deal with a heavy workload or how to better position themselves. Ingeborg is therefore currently taking a certified coach training course.
